CANYON DEL ORO AND AMPHITHEATER HIGH SCHOOL WIN AWARDS IN FCCLA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. Members can demonstrate family and consumer sciences skills, career skills, and interpersonal skills through competitive events.

Canyon del Oro High School won the following awards in the FCCLA State Leadership Conference:

Culinary Arts

  • Aleksandra Billington – Silver, Salad Prep

  • Hayley Davidson, Keyoung Galvan, and Keith Griffus – Silver, Culinary Team Event

  • Julia Gomez – Silver, Cupcake Decorating

  • Cristian Oros and Ally Droubie – Silver, Culinary Team Event

  • Maddie Castro – Silver, Cupcake Decorating

Early Childhood Start Events

  • Ashely Ellerd and Megan Ellerd – Gold, Interpersonal Communications

  • Shelby Welch and Jaiden Hastings – Gold, Advocacy

Amphitheater High School won the following awards in the FCCLA State Leadership Conference:

  • Jon Davis – Silver, Job Interview

  • Silver Chapter Award for Own Up Arizona

The FCCLA’s mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through: character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
